Our core services include data destruction, site clearance & de-installations, and WEEE disposal, all delivered using our own dedicated team and our own fleet of vehicles.
As part of our growth, we are looking for an enthusiastic, and highly motivated Site Clearance Field Engineer, who is passionate about delivering an exceptional secure and sustainable technology disposal service.
This role requires a high level of physical fitness as you will be lifting, moving, pushing and pulling equipment weighing up to 25kg.
Working in teams of 2 or 3 at a time, you must also have a full clean driving licence so that you can share the driving with your team. You must also be willing to stay away from home up to every other week, Monday to Friday, on rotation basis, dependant on customer locations (overnight subsistence paid)
You will ideally live within around 30 minutes of our base in Bury St Edmunds.
The role is a varied and will includes the following :
- Attending client sites to remove cabling for recycling on our premises
- Retrieval of hardware (e.g. Circuit boards) from data racks
- Dismantling of data/cable cabinets reducing them to a shell
- Deinstallation and removal of various other types of IT equipment and network hardware including IT exchanges, server room towers and desktop equipment
- Carrying out site surveys
We are looking for someone who meets the following requirements;
- Has a background in a similar manual role where you have been required to load, unload, lift and transport heavy items.
- Is able to use hand tools such as screwdrivers, drills etc.
- Has a basic understanding of IT equipment
- Has basic IT skills (Microsoft packages and mobile apps for timesheet completion)
- Can positively represent the company at all times being well-presented and professional
- Is able to demonstrate good communication skills when dealing with our varied customers
- Is able to problem solve when experiencing issues and understands when to escalate problems
- Possess a good attention to detail to ensure tasks are carried out to the highest possible standard
- Is able to complete basic regulatory documentation when transporting goods
- Has a good understanding of health and safety procedures, ensuring safe working practices are adhered to at all times
In additional to the starting salary you will receive overtime for hours worked in excess of 37.5 per week, 23.5 days holiday plus all bank holidays, a day of for your birthday , 4% pension contribution and access to a Health Cash plan.
