Love numbers and want your work to make a real difference?
At Wilderness Way, we're on a mission to transform the lives of children and young people through exceptional residential care. Behind every home, every team and every success story is a dedicated support network making it all possible, and that's where our Finance Team comes in.
We're looking for an Accounts Assistant who is organised, detail-focused and ready to play a key role in a growing and ambitious organisation. Whether you're looking to develop your finance career or bring your existing experience into a purpose-led business, this could be the perfect next step.
This is far more than a traditional finance administration role. You'll be at the heart of the business, supporting colleagues across our services, building relationships with suppliers, solving problems and helping ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
What you'll be doing
No two days are quite the same, but you'll be involved in:
Processing purchase orders and supplier invoices
Managing supplier accounts and resolving queries
Preparing and processing payment runs
Supporting cash management and reconciliations
Managing Soldo cards, budgets and user support
Assisting with utilities management across our properties
Working closely with teams across the organisation
Supporting month-end processes and financial reporting
You'll become a trusted point of contact, ensuring financial information is accurate, payments are made on time, and colleagues receive the support they need.
What we're looking for
We're interested in people who are:
Naturally organised and highly accurate
Great at building relationships and communicating with others
Confident working with numbers and financial systems
Comfortable managing multiple priorities
Positive, proactive and keen to learn
Team players who enjoy solving problems
Essential Requirements
Minimum 2 years' experience in an accounts or finance role
GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above)
Experience using accounting software such as SAP
Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability
Desirable
AAT Level 2 or above (or currently studying)
Experience working within a fast-paced environment
