CNC Milling Machine Operator

Company Overview
Our client is an established and growing manufacturing business supplying precision components to a range of major customers. Due to continued growth, they are looking to add an experienced CNC Milling Machine Operator to their production team.

The Role
The successful candidate will primarily operate CNC vertical machining centres, with the opportunity to develop their setting skills. The role will involve producing components accurately to specification while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
Components can range from small parts through to larger items weighing up to 500kg.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CNC vertical milling and machining centres.
- Set machines where experience allows, with training available for those looking to develop their setting skills.
- Work from engineering drawings and production specifications.
- Inspect your own work using micrometers, Verniers and gauges.
- Adjust machine offsets as required to maintain quality.
- Carry out basic daily and weekly machine maintenance.
- Identify and resolve machining issues where possible.
- Support colleagues with production and technical issues.
- Follow all health and safety and quality procedures.
- Handle components safely using appropriate lifting equipment.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous CNC machine operating experience.
- Ability to work accurately and maintain quality standards.
- Good understanding of CNC machining processes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Good attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and develop CNC setting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Experience
- Experience operating Fanuc-controlled CNC machines.
- Previous CNC setting experience.
- Heidenhain control experience.
- Experience using overhead or jib cranes.
- Previous experience machining steel components.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment.
Training & Development
Full familiarisation and product-specific training will be provided. Crane training will also be available where required.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday – Day Shift.
