Our Performance and Business Intelligence Service is central to the delivery of high-quality services and improved outcomes for Rotherham communities and residents. We provide the insight, challenge and evidence that drives key decision-making across the Council.
We’re now looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Performance Analyst to join the team. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of the Council, supporting services to understand performance, identify opportunities for improvement and make evidence-based decisions that improve outcomes for residents.
About the role
As part of the Performance and Business Intelligence Service, you will support the delivery of a modern performance management framework that meets service, Council and national requirements.
Working closely with colleagues, managers and partners across the Council, you will gather, validate and analyse data from a range of sources to provide accurate, timely and meaningful performance information. You will produce reports, dashboards and intelligence products that help services understand performance, identify trends and support continuous improvement.
You will play a key role in benchmarking activities, statutory data returns and the provision of performance information for internal and external reporting requirements. You will also contribute to the development of insight and intelligence products that improve understanding of customer needs, service demand and outcomes for communities.
While your primary focus will be Housing Services, you will also have opportunities to contribute more widely across the Council, applying your skills to emerging priorities and cross-cutting challenges.
About you;

Ability to develop robust approaches to collecting, validating and reporting performance information to inform decision making and service improvement.
- A good understanding of performance management and role of business intelligence in a large customer focused organisation
- Experience of analysing large and complex datasets and presenting the findings clearly for a range of audiences
- The confidence to proactively identify and challenge areas of risk, poor performance and data quality, and support colleagues to drive improvement
- Excellent digital and data skills, including the use of spreadsheets, databases and data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI) within a Microsoft 365 environment.
- Ability to build effective relationships, influence colleagues and work collaboratively to improve outcomes.

Interview dates are still to be confirmed but are likely to take place week commencing the 14th of September 2026. The format of the interview will be in person at the main council offices, Riverside House and will involve a work-based task relating to the role.
