About Us
The Olive & Vine Stubbington is a café, restaurant and bar focused on great food, friendly service and creating a welcoming customer experience.
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Assistant Manager to work alongside our General Manager and support the day-to-day operation of the venue.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their hospitality management career within a growing independent business.
The Role
As Assistant Manager, you will support the General Manager in overseeing the daily operation of the venue, leading the team, maintaining high standards and ensuring an outstanding customer experience.
You will take responsibility for running shifts, supporting staff, handling customer issues and helping drive the business forward.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the General Manager with the day-to-day operation of the venue
- Leading and motivating the team during shifts
- Supervising opening and closing procedures
- Delivering excellent customer service and maintaining high service standards
- Handling customer feedback and resolving complaints professionally
- Assisting with staff training, coaching and development
- Supporting rota planning and labour management
- Ensuring cleanliness, food safety and health & safety standards are maintained
- Supporting stock control, cash handling and end-of-day procedures
- Helping achieve sales, labour and operational targets
- Acting as Duty Manager when required
What We're Looking For
- Previous hospitality management or supervisory experience
- Experience within a café, restaurant, pub or bar environment
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- A hands-on approach with a willingness to support all areas of the business
- Excellent customer service skills
- Reliable, organised and able to work under pressure
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays
- Personal Licence preferred (or willingness to obtain one)
