We’re looking for a motivated and hands-on Deep Clean / Damp and Mould Operative to join our in-house team, helping us make a real difference to residents’ homes and wellbeing.
In this role, you’ll work across occupied homes, void properties, and communal areas, tackling damp and mould issues head-on. From deep cleaning and treatments to minor repairs and insulation works, you’ll play a key part in improving living conditions and creating a safer, healthier environments for residents
You’ll be part of a supportive and experienced trades team, with opportunities to broaden your skills by supporting responsive repairs when needed. We’re committed to getting things right first time - so you’ll be trusted to deliver high-quality work efficiently and with a strong focus on value for money.
Working closely with our planning team, you’ll respond quickly to reported issues, identify the root causes, and take the right steps to resolve them.
What you’ll be doing:
Inspecting loft spaces and improving insulation w
- needed
- Diagnosing damp and mould issues, including identifying possible leaks
- Carrying out deep cleaning, mould treatments, and basic decorating
- Delivering a high standard of workmanship with a strong focus on customer care
This is a varied, rewarding role w no two days are the same, and w your work will have a direct impact on people’s homes and quality of life.
We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys solving problems, and is committed to delivering a great service to residents.
You’ll have a good understanding of health and safety when working in residential settings, along with some hands-on experience in DIY or multi-trade work. If you’ve got experience in areas like basic plumbing, carpentry, or decorating, that’s a big advantage - but we’ll also invest in your development with ongoing training.
You’ll also bring:
- A positive, can-do attitude and a practical approach to problem-solving
- Confidence in dealing with residents in a professional and respectful way
- The ability to work independently and manage your time effectively
- A strong commitment to working safely and following procedures
The role is physically active, so you’ll need to be comfortable:
- Working in loft spaces
- Carrying out cleaning tasks across large areas
- Safely using mould treatment products
Completing general hands-on tasks
You must hold a valid UK driving licence as a work van will be provided for this role.
The successful applicant will require an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate which is considered satisfactory to Housing Solutions.
