Community Care Worker – Bodmin - Waking Night Shifts
Pay: £14.20 – £14.70 per hour
Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Community Care Workers to join our growing team in Bodmin, specifically to provide waking night support. This role involves supporting an individual in their own home throughout the night, helping to maintain their safety, dignity and wellbeing. The individual requires waking night support every night from 10:00pm to 7:00am due to a risk of wandering during the night.
The successful candidate will remain awake and alert throughout the shift, providing reassurance, supervision and support whenever required.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide continuous waking night support from 10:00pm to 7:00am
- Monitor and support the individual throughout the night due to the risk of wandering
- Provide reassurance and guidance if the individual wakes or attempts to leave the property
- Support personal care needs, including washing, dressing and hygiene support where required
- Assist with mobility and movement using safe moving and handling techniques
- Administer or prompt medication in line with the individual's care plan
- Prepare and support with meals or refreshments where required
- Maintain a safe and comfortable environment throughout the night
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records
- Communicate effectively with the individual, family members and colleagues
- Promote independence, dignity and person-centred care at all times
- Report and record any concerns, incidents or changes in the individual's presentation
Requirements
- Previous care experience desirable but not essential
- A compassionate and professional approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Full UK driving licence required
Pay Structure
- Level 1 Health & Social Care Worker – £14.20/hour | Bank Holiday – £16.20/hour
- Level 2 Health & Social Care Worker – £14.45/hour | Bank Holiday – £16.45/hour
- Level 3 Health & Social Care Worker – £14.70/hour | Bank Holiday – £16.70/hour
