Seated Exercise / Strength & Balance Instructor
About the Role:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate, and reliable Strength & Balance Instructor to deliver fun, engaging, chair-based exercise classes for older adults, taking place in area's within Cambridgeshire, during the day-times. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe, enjoyable, and inclusive chair-based strength and balance exercise classes.
- Adapt exercises to suit a range of abilities and individual needs.
- Encourage participants to improve their mobility, flexibility, stability, strength, and coordination.
- Create a relaxed, friendly, and motivating atmosphere where everyone feels welcome.
- Build positive relationships with participants, promoting confidence and social interaction.
- Monitor participants throughout sessions, ensuring exercises are performed safely.
- Maintain accurate attendance and payment records.
- Follow all health and safety, safeguarding, and organisational procedures.
- Report any concerns regarding participant wellbeing in line with safeguarding policies.
Essential Requirements:
- Level 2 Exercise to Music, Group Exercise, Fitness Instructing or equivalent qualification (Level 2 minimum).
- Experience delivering exercise sessions to older adults or individuals with varying mobility levels.
- Enhanced DBS Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid at Work qualification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A warm, patient, encouraging, and professional approach.
- Ability to motivate participants of all abilities while maintaining a safe environment.
- Experience delivering chair-based exercise programmes.
- Knowledge of age-related conditions and adapting exercises appropriately.
- Safeguarding training.
