The Role
We're recruiting a Team Manager to lead supervision, quality assurance and panel functions across the agency — supervising Supervising Social Workers and Assessors, quality assuring Form F assessments, and acting as Panel Advisor. This role sits at the centre of practice quality across the agency, with direct oversight of the work that goes in front of panel.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide regular supervision to a caseload of Supervising Social Workers (SSWs), ensuring practice standards, statutory timescales and carer support needs are met
- Supervise Assessors and quality assure Form F assessments prior to panel submission, ensuring analytical rigour and compliance with regulations and National Minimum Standards
- Act as Panel Advisor: prepare panel agendas, quality assure paperwork going to panel, and provide legal and procedural guidance to panel members
- Support SSWs with complex case management and decision-making
- Contribute to workforce planning, recruitment and Ofsted inspection readiness alongside senior leadership
- Participate on Out of Hours Management rota
- Overseeing risk management, safeguarding and compliance with the Fostering Services Regulations 2011 and National Minimum Standards
About You
- Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England
- Strong post-qualifying experience in fostering, including Form F assessment and panel work
- Experience of supervising social work staff
- Sound knowledge of the Fostering Services Regulations, National Minimum Standards and relevant case law
- Direct, analytical, and confident under scrutiny
- The ability to operate with professional autonomy, produce evidence-based reports of panel standard, and manage complex casework decisions
