Vectis Auctions, part of the Hambleton Group, is the world's largest specialist toy and collectables auction house. We are looking for a hardworking, organised and reliable Dispatch Assistant to join our busy Dispatch Department.
This is a fast-paced, hands-on role that combines order picking, packing and customer collections. You'll play a key part in ensuring customers receive their purchases safely, accurately and on time.
About the Role
Your role will involve both picking and packing customer orders. A key responsibility is collecting sold lots from our storage areas and ensuring the packing team has a continuous flow of orders throughout the day. You'll also pack customer purchases to a high standard, prepare them for dispatch and assist customers collecting their items from our premises.
This is an active role that requires you to be on your feet for much of the day, moving trolleys loaded with auction items and working efficiently to meet daily dispatch targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Pick sold orders from our warehouse and storage areas
- Keep the packing team supplied with a steady flow of orders throughout the day
- Pack customer purchases securely and accurately for dispatch
- Check orders to ensure accuracy before shipping
- Prepare shipping paperwork and process courier information
- Assist customers collecting their purchases, providing a friendly and professional service
- Move loaded trolleys and handle items safely around the warehouse
- Support post-auction dispatch operations and general warehouse activities
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
- Assist with off-site customer collections when required (advance notice provided)
- Occasionally attend trade events and exhibitions (overnight stays may be required)

Desirable Skills
- Experience in a warehouse, dispatch, picking or packing role
- Experience using courier or shipping systems (e.g. Parcelforce)
- Basic Microsoft Office skills
