What You’ll Be Doing / Key Responsibilities
- Drive Class 2 rigid HGVs on general haulage routes (typically 1–3 stops per day)
- Plan routes and navigate to ensure timely deliveries
- Carry out daily vehicle checks, inspections, and report defects
- Uptodate tachograph card and CPC
- Perform manual entries and maintain accurate records where needed
- Use our driver app (to be installed on your smartphone) to receive job tasks, record completions, take photographs and upload PODs
- Assist with loading/unloading goods, including use of tail lift operations safely and efficiently
- Be flexible with start / finish times (within legal driving limits)
- Be available for occasional night out shifts 1–3 times per week
- Always work within driver hours/rest break & safety regulations
Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ experience (active) driving Class 2 / Cat C vehicles
- Valid Class 2 / clean record (no DR codes/endorsements)
- Up-to-date Driver CPC and digital tachograph card
- Ability to pass medical check and DBS check
- Strong sense of responsibility, reliability, and a proactive “can-do” mindset
- Good timekeeping, route planning, and ability to work under pressure
- Experience and physically capable of handling goods and tail-lift operations
- Must own a smartphone (iOS or Android) capable of running our driver app with camera functionality
Working Hours & Flexibility
- Flexibility in start/finish times (within legal driving constraints)
- Core work Monday to Friday, with occasional night out duties
- Min 8h per day (40h per week)
