ApproCare are seeking reliable, caring team members to join our busy fast paced Community Care Management team covering Sheppey and Sittingbourne (Our office is based in Bluetown, Sheerness although please note this is not just an office based role).
ApproCare is a leading Care Provider of adult home care covering Sheppey & Sittingbourne, founded in 2013.
Requirements
- All candidates must have a minimum of 6 months care experience ideally in Community Care.
- All candidates must already have certification of OR be in the process of completing a RQF/NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care.
- Must be available to work Monday to Friday and every other weekend. Full time OR part time hours are available within this working pattern. The role will be mostly community based (including care visits) but will also be part office/administrative based.
- Candidates MUST be available to work either early mornings OR late evenings if necessary (SEE DESCRIPTION BELOW).
- Ability to cope with a busy and demanding role, involving telephone/email or in person contact with Community Care workers, Clients and Health Professionals.
- Candidates MUST be a driver with their own vehicle.
- Candidates MUST be willing and able to assist in covering care calls in cases of urgent need.
- Candidates MUST have a Smartphone to use our staff app.
- Candidates MUST have excellent computer skills - The ability to use email, Microsoft Word & Microsoft Excel.
- Candidates MUST have an excellent telephone manner.
- Candidates MUST have excellent English (both spoken & written).
Job Title: Senior Carer
Salary: Circa £26,083.20 basic pay + on call bonus + overtime opportunities = CIRCA £27,976 (Pro Rata if Part Time)
Job Type: Full Time/Permanent OR Part Time/Permanent
Reportable to: Registered Manager
This role will mostly consist of
- Leading a team of Community Carers to include their Training Inductions & Spot Check Supervisions
- To cover Care Calls as per rota and when necessary in cases of urgent need
- To take responsibility for the emergency On Call phone on a rota basis
However other duties include:
- Assist and support the Manager with the day to day running of the business
- Assist in interviewing any Community Carer candidates (in collaboration with HR Administrator)
- Client visits & liaison - including Assessments and Reviews (in the absence of the Assessor)
- Communicate effectively with Care Managers and other professionals with regard to Clients. Communicate effectively with Office and Community staff members of ApproCare
- To carry out introductory visits when a Community Carer visits a new Client for the first time.
- Ad hoc general office duties including maintenance of client files and dealing effectively with telephone and email enquiries
- Assist Registered Manager to deal effectively and efficiently with any concerns that may arise from clients or staff.
This role would ideally suit an experienced Carer wishing to progress and further develop their skills and knowledge in the Care industry. As a guideline, this role is 25% an administrative role and 75% care based.
The applicant must be willing and able to assist with covering care work as per schedule and in the event of urgent need.
Hours of work available are:
Weekdays - A mix of care/admin based with a choice of EARLY SHIFT (usually from 6/7am) OR LATE SHIFT (Usually up to 10pm) Monday - Fridays. Start and Finish time may be negotiated -please indicate on application your preference or either early or late shifts. Duration of weekly hours available can be contracted from 16 hours up to 48+ hours (as desired by the candidate - WE ARE FLEXIBLE!!!).
And every other weekend community care based. Some degree of flexibility may be expected in accordance with client need and/or in the event of an emergency.
Applicants MUST be locally based to Isle of Sheppey / Sittingbourne area, as well as a driver with a full UK driving licence.
