Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Kitchen Chef to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional food quality. This role involves overseeing daily kitchen operations, supervising staff, and ensuring all food safety standards are met. The Kitchen Chef will play a pivotal role in maintaining the high standards of our establishment whilst fostering a positive team environment.
Duties
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure efficient food preparation and service
- Oversee food production processes, ensuring consistency and quality in all dishes
- Manage food safety protocols in compliance with health regulations and standards
- Plan menus in collaboration with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to develop their culinary skills and knowledge
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery
- Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and manage inventory to minimise waste
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area at all times
- Ensure all dishes are prepared according to recipes and presentation standards
- Uphold hospitality standards by ensuring excellent customer service during meal service
Requirements
- Proven experience in food production, cooking, and kitchen management within a hospitality or restaurant environment
- Supervising experience with the ability to lead a team effectively
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene
- Excellent culinary skills with a comprehensive understanding of food preparation techniques
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
- Experience in menu planning, food presentation, and quality control
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure during busy periods
- Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable
- Knowledge of serving procedures and hospitality standards is advantageous
- A passion for culinary arts coupled with a professional attitude towards excellence in food service
