GENERAL MANAGER – THE DUTCH MILL HOTEL (ABERDEEN)

The Dutch Mill Hotel is a busy, well‑established 9‑bedroom hotel, bar, and restaurant in Aberdeen’s West End. With a team of around 50 staff and a strong reputation for food, sport, events, parties, and lively atmosphere.
We are now seeking an experienced, hands‑on General Manager to lead the operation and drive standards across the business.
About the Role
This is a customer‑focused, front‑of‑house leadership position. We need a GM who thrives in a busy venue, enjoys being on the floor, and leads from the front.
You will be responsible for:
- Daily operations across bar, restaurant, hotel rooms, and events
- Leading, training, and developing a team of around 50 staff
- Maintaining high customer service standards
- Managing busy periods including sports events and December trade
- Organising parties, functions, and group bookings
- Overseeing cocktail menus, drinks strategy, and upselling
- Ensuring smooth operations, cost control, and staffing efficiency
- Working closely with senior leadership and kitchen management
This is not a back‑office role — we want a GM who is visible, energetic, and passionate about hospitality.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 7 years’ experience as a General Manager in a similar high‑volume venue
- Strong leadership and people‑management skills
- A genuine passion for hospitality and customer experience
- Experience running busy bars, restaurants, or hotels
- Confidence organising events and managing large bookings
- Ability to oversee operations, cost control, and staff performance
- A hands‑on operator who thrives in a lively, fast‑paced environment
