Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support classroom activities and individualised learning programmes. This role involves working closely with teachers, students, and specialised support staff to create an inclusive and nurturing educational environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, particularly those with special educational needs, including individuals with autism. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop skills in special education, mentoring, and creative writing within a supportive team.
Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons tailored to diverse learning needs.
- Support students with special educational requirements, including those with disabilities and autism, ensuring they access the curriculum effectively.
- Provide one-on-one tutoring and mentoring to help students improve their academic skills and confidence.
- Foster a positive learning environment through creative activities such as creative writing exercises.
- Support behavioural management strategies and promote social inclusion among pupils.
- Help prepare educational materials and organise classroom resources for daily activities.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers on individual development.
- Encourage students’ participation in classroom discussions and extracurricular activities.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children, particularly within special education or inclusive settings.
- Knowledge of working with individuals with disabilities, including autism spectrum conditions.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, teachers, and parents.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
- Creative writing skills are desirable for developing engaging learning activities.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting children's educational growth.
- Relevant qualifications or training in special education or related fields are advantageous but not essential.

Pay: £97.68-£154.49 per day
