The Event Operations Specialist plays a key role within the SJP Events Team, supporting the effective planning, coordination and delivery of the events portfolio. The role ensures operational excellence by maintaining consistent processes, documentation and systems across all events, and by supporting the management of suppliers, budgets and logistical requirements.
Reporting to, and working closely with the Event Operations Manager, the role helps ensure that each event is delivered efficiently, safely and in line with SJP’s objectives, regulatory standards and commitment to delivering high quality delegate experiences.
This role can be based in any of our office locations, and will require travel where necessary to support events.
- Support the management of the overarching SJP events calendar for the function, ensuring visibility of all planned activity across the year
- Oversee effective delegate journeys by supporting event registration and delegate processes, ensuring a smooth, accurate, and high‑quality experience from sign‑up through to event delivery.
- Provide expert support and problem‑solving to event teams, enabling informed decisions, resolving issues quickly, and continuously improving the overall delegate experience.
- Manage key supplier relationships under framework agreements, including scheduling monthly review meetings, preparing agendas, and collating performance and feedback data to support supplier evaluation and decision‑making.
- Maintain budgets, forecasting and ensure events are managed within their allocated spend using correct financial processes and tools
- Ensure required contracts, permits, licenses, and insurance are in place for the events we deliver
You'll bring previous experience of events operations, along with strong organisation and communication skills. Comfortable working within established frameworks and governance requirements, you will have a methodical approach to managing budgets, suppliers, contracts, risk documentation and event logistics. You'll have experience working with event registration and delegate management platforms, such as Cvent, and be confident using technology to support seamless event delivery and delegate experiences. Experience with comparable event management systems will also be considered.
