We're looking for an experienced and inspiring Activities Lead to oversee our Living Well Team at the Betty Asher Loftus Centre (BALC).
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the delivery of engaging, person-centred wellbeing and lifestyle programmes across our residential, nursing and dementia care homes. You'll be responsible for creating meaningful opportunities that enhance residents' physical, emotional, social, cultural and spiritual wellbeing while ensuring they remain connected to their interests, relationships and Jewish way of life.
Working closely with residents, families, colleagues, volunteers and community partners, you'll lead a team dedicated to helping residents live fulfilling and meaningful lives.
Approximately half of the role will involve hands-on delivery of activities, with the remainder focused on leadership, planning, partnership working, quality improvement and programme development.
This post is working Monday to Friday for 40 hours per week. 09.00-17.00 with one Sunday afternoon in 6 (3 hours) time off in lieu
- Leading and supporting the Living Well Team across the BALC homes.
- Planning and delivering a varied programme of activities, events, outings and wellbeing initiatives.
- Ensuring programmes are tailored to residents' individual interests, needs and abilities.
- Supporting residents living with dementia, physical disabilities and complex care needs.
- Incorporating Jewish festivals, traditions and celebrations into activity programmes.
- Building relationships with families, volunteers, community groups, Rabbis and local organisations.
- Monitoring the impact of activities and driving continuous improvement.
- Managing activity resources and budgets effectively.
- Ensuring activities and events are delivered safely and in line with organisational policies.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience leading a team within a care, wellbeing, community or activities setting.
- Is passionate about improving the lives of older people.
- Has experience developing and delivering engaging wellbeing or lifestyle programmes.
- Understands the needs of people living with dementia and other complex needs.
- Is creative, enthusiastic and able to inspire others.
- Has excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.
- Enjoys building relationships with residents, families, volunteers and community partners.
- Has an awareness of Jewish traditions, festivals and cultural practices.
- Is confident using digital technology and Microsoft Office applications.
- Is flexible and willing to work occasional evenings, weekends and special events.
