As a Trainee Workshop Engineer at Neckar Forklifts, you will receive comprehensive on‑the‑job training covering the practical aspects of the role. Working under the supervision of a competent and experienced Engineer at all times, you’ll gain hands‑on experience with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic handling equipment. The position is depot‑based to ensure maximum exposure to day‑to‑day engineering tasks, allowing you to build strong foundational skills and progress confidently within the workshop environment. In house technical training will be provided by our Academy
Key Responsibilities
General Responsibilities • Follow all reasonable and lawful instructions, including those relating to Health & Safety. • Promote and uphold Briggs’ culture and values in all aspects of work. • Successfully complete agreed objectives set by your mentor and the training team. • Complete all training documents and assignments on time and in the required format. • Attend all scheduled training courses as needed. • Work under the guidance of your mentor to ensure all tasks are carried out safely.
Engineering Responsibilities (Working Towards) • Based at our Maidenhead Depot, complete supervised repair and maintenance work while adhering to safe working practices. • Carry out Pre‑Delivery Inspections (PDIs) on new equipment and complete all associated documentation. • Use all available resources, including support from the Briggs Technical Team when required. • Ensure all work meets engineering standards and complies with Briggs/manufacturer specifications and tolerances. • Inspect and check your own work throughout the process, ensuring equipment performs correctly and is safe before being returned to the customer. • Ensure all job and service documentation is completed accurately and in full.
