About Us
The Real Olive Company is a Bristol-based producer of premium olives, antipasti, and Mediterranean food — sourced from artisan farmers in Greece and Italy and loved by customers across the UK. We're a small, friendly team of around 28 people, and we take genuine pride in what we make.
We're growing, and we're looking for someone reliable, positive, and hands-on to join our production team. Whether you've worked in food production before or you're looking for a fresh start in a supportive environment, we'd love to hear from you.
The Role
As a Food Production & Hygiene Operative, you'll be at the heart of what we do — preparing, mixing, and packing our products to the highest standard, then making sure the production area is left spotless at the end of each day. It's varied, physical work in a team that genuinely looks out for each other.
What you'll be doing:
- Preparing and mixing olives, herbs, and antipasti ingredients following detailed recipes
- Operating production machinery including sealing machines and dispensers
- Packing and labelling products accurately and consistently
- Carrying out end-of-day hygiene and cleaning duties across the production area, ensuring everything meets our food safety standards
- Keeping your workspace clean and organised throughout the day
- Following all health, safety, and food hygiene regulations
- Working closely with your teammates to keep things running smoothly
- Joining team meetings and sharing ideas — we value everyone's input
What we're looking for
- A positive attitude and a willingness to get stuck in — that matters more than experience
- Attention to detail and pride in doing a job well
- The ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
- Comfortable working on your feet in a hands-on, physical role
- A good team player with clear communication skills
- Happy to take ownership of cleaning and hygiene tasks as part of the daily routine
- Previous food production experience is a bonus, but not essential — we'll train the right person
