About the role
Job Title: Services & Community Coordinator
Employer: Hands Together Ludlow
Salary: £29,777.28
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 9am-5pm with up to a one-hour unpaid lunch break. Core operating hours are 10am-12pm and 2pm-4pm
Contract: Permanent
Start: As soon as possible
Hands Together Ludlow works with partners, stakeholders and volunteers to create a more equitable community in and around Ludlow by reducing isolation, poor health and wellbeing and financial hardship. By bringing volunteers and service users together through a range of services, we fill the gaps, provide opportunities and support the community to support itself. We believe in building resilience and not dependence.
Our new post holder will build on the current activities and networks built by previous team members and draw on their own skills and experience to take HTL to the next stage in its development.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinating services
- Be the lead person to meet and triage people coming to HTL for help, signposting, referrals and support.
- Understand the genuine needs of service users, considering their environment and situation.
- Receive and deal with external referrals (self- referrals or via a partner agency).
- Keep in contact with service users/referral agencies so that they know how referrals are to be actioned and ongoing communication.
- Maintain accurate contact and service user activity records.
- Research and collate information on gaps in services/provision in the town to influence the HTL strategy.
- Work with the COO, Volunteer Coordinator and Food Coordinator to plan and coordinate new services.
- Work with the COO, Volunteer Coordinator and Food Coordinator to coordinate existing services and projects.
- Monitor and evaluate services and projects and provide regular and timely reports.
- Monitor and evaluate services providing recommendations for when offboarding or removal of services is required.
- Be alert to any Safeguarding concerns and follow policy.
Community coordination
- Work with multiple agencies across different sectors to
- Establish good working relationships to enhance provision and increase support to service users.
- Identify opportunities to develop and deliver new services based on need, in line with the charitable objectives
- Allow for collaborative working, reciprocal referrals and possible joint funding bids
- Lead and grow our Ludlow Community Support Network demonstrating impact against charitable objectives.
- Attend networking/committee meetings to inform practice and identify opportunities.
- Represent the charity at events, marketing and awareness raising activities.
- Actively explore those more rural communities surrounding Ludlow and identify innovative and inclusive ways to support them more directly.
General
- Be aligned with the ethos and values of HTL.
- The jobholder must be interested in people and be able to manage interactions sympathetically, with dignity and respect.
- Collect non-confidential stories about the work of the charity for use in publicity and grant applications.
- Work alongside the management structures and trustee teams from HTL.
- Work with the Volunteer Coordinator to recruit, train and support volunteers needed for activities.
- Must have excellent communication skills both verbally and written.
- Maintain accurate records and undertake other administrative duties.
- Ensure Health and Safety compliance and risk assess projects/activities.
- Maintain and develop policies, guidelines and practice relating to new projects and services.
