Natural Stone Surfaces are a leading fabricator of stone worktops. We are based in Chapel en le Frith and cover the whole of the UK. Due to continued growth we are looking to recruit new a new Yard Operative to assist with all shipping activities and truck loading, communicating with all departments to ensure the efficient and on-time delivery to the correct location.
Job description
- Ensuring a safe working area at all times
- Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping within all yard and storage areas as well as in the vehicle
- Remove stock from shipment delivery trucks
- Ensuring the correct and safe storage of slabs
- Ensure all old stock is accessible before new stock is used, supporting a FIFO (First In, First Out) process with old stock in front of new
- Ongoing stock counts on daily/weekly basis with check against recorded quantities to ensure complete accuracy at all times
- Tracking of stock and supplies that need restocking;
- Support other team members as required once duties are complete and in order.
- Skilled and proficient at entering and verifying data and maintaining necessary driver records
- Fork Lift Truck and other truck related qualifications are desirable but refresher training can be given
- Self-motivated, proactive individual
- Full flexibility with working hours, willing to work some weekends on an overtime basis
- Capable of working in a pressurised environment
- Adaptable and a good team player with demonstrable skills
- Able to build and maintain effective working relationships
- Able to effectively communicate with team members
- Enquiring mind, willingness to adopt new approaches
- Able to demonstrate good verbal and numerical skill
- 48 hours per week, paid breaks
