We are now seeking a creative and commercially astute Brand and Marketing Officer to strengthen our brand presence, drive engagement, and ensure our communications consistently reflect the values, integrity and impact of SLS.
About the Role
This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role with strategic reach. The Brand and Marketing Officer will take operational ownership of the SLS brand, marketing activity and communications output. You will translate strategy into action, manage campaigns end-to-end, and produce high-quality content that resonates with both internal and external stakeholders.
The role suits an individual who can operate with autonomy, balance creativity with rigour, and deliver at pace within a regulated, purpose-driven organisation.
Key ResponsibilitiesBrand Management and Development
- Implement and maintain the SLS brand framework, ensuring consistency across all channels and materials.
- Act as brand custodian, providing practical guidance and assets to colleagues across the organisation.
- Safeguard tone of voice, visual identity and messaging integrity, including alignment with B Corp values.
Marketing Delivery and Campaigns
- Plan, deliver and optimise multi-channel marketing campaigns aligned to organisational priorities.
- Coordinate content, design and timelines using Microsoft 365 tools to ensure efficient execution.
- Monitor performance metrics and apply insight-led improvements.
Content Creation
- Create high-quality written and visual content for websites, newsletters, social media, reports, presentations and print.
- Manage and update the SLS website via WordPress, ensuring accuracy, accessibility and engagement.
- Maintain a structured content calendar aligned to campaigns, events and business activity.
- Leverage generative AI tools responsibly to enhance content ideation, drafting and optimisation, in line with organisational governance, data protection and ethical standards.
Internal and External Communications
- Deliver clear, engaging internal communications that support culture, alignment and staff engagement.
- Support senior leaders and operational teams with messaging, announcements and narrative development.
- Draft and distribute external communications including press releases, stakeholder updates and public-facing content.
Design and Marketing Assets
- Design or oversee the production of brochures, flyers, social media assets, branded templates and merchandise.
- Use Adobe Creative Cloud (full suite) and Canva to deliver high-quality in-house design outputs.
- Manage external suppliers where specialist input or print production is required.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with care, operations and leadership teams to capture impact stories and translate them into compelling content.
- Ensure all communications are inclusive, accessible and aligned with the SLS mission and B Corp principles.
- Provide marketing and brand support to cross-departmental initiatives.

Person Specification
Essential
- Demonstrable experience in brand, marketing or communications roles.
- Strong written, visual and verbal communication skills.
- Proven experience managing content through WordPress.
- Advanced capability with Adobe Creative Cloud and modern digital tools.
- Confident use of Microsoft 365 for planning, collaboration and reporting.
- Strong organisational and project management capability.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
Desirable
- Experience within health, social care or not-for-profit sectors.
- Understanding of inclusive and accessible communication.
- Experience working in purpose-led, values-driven or B Corp organisations.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Marketing, Communications, Design or a related discipline.
