Overview
We are looking for a reliable and proactive Goods In/Out Operative to join our team at This is a varied, hands-on warehouse role supporting both incoming and outgoing goods. You’ll be responsible for receiving and storing stock, preparing and packing furniture for dispatch, loading vehicles and helping ensure products leave our site safely, accurately and on time. You’ll work closely with colleagues across our warehouse and factory, so we’re looking for someone who is comfortable working as part of a team, takes pride in doing a job well and is willing to be flexible when support is needed in other areas.
What you will be doing
- Receiving, checking, booking in and correctly storing incoming deliveries
- Recording and labelling stock accurately
- Carrying out stock counts and reporting any discrepancies or shortages
- Preparing and packing furniture safely and correctly for dispatch
- Checking products for quality before packaging
- Loading wagons and vans safely
- Monitoring outbound deliveries and reporting shortages, damage or other issues
- Processing returns in a timely manner
- Keeping your work area and shared areas clean, safe and organised
- Following relevant SOPs, risk assessments and health & safety procedures
- Supporting other areas of the factory when required and appropriately trained
What we’re looking for
You don’t need to know everything from day one — training and support will be provided to help you develop in the role.
You will need:
- Previous warehouse, goods in/out, logistics or similar experience would be beneficial
- Forklift/Counterbalance experience would be an advantage. Where appropriate, we can support training or refresher training.
- A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to learn
- Good attention to detail and the ability to work accurately
- A positive approach to health and safety
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Sufficient spoken and written English to understand work instructions, safety information and training, and to complete the documentation required for the role
- The ability to undertake the manual handling requirements of the role safely
- Flexibility to support different areas of the operation when required
- The right to work in the UK
