The Junior Project Manager supports the delivery of small, lower-risk projects and defined workstreams within larger programmes aimed at maintaining, enhancing and transforming AL Platforms.
Working under the direction of a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager, the role supports the definition, planning, coordination, monitoring and delivery of business and technology change using the Bank’s Change Framework and proportionate PRINCE2, Waterfall, Agile and hybrid delivery practices.
The role requires the development of business knowledge and an understanding of the AL Platform operating model and strategy across people, operational processes and technology.
The Junior Project Manager works collaboratively with Change Management specialists, wider business areas, IT Platform teams and third-party suppliers to support the delivery of agreed business outcomes.

Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the end-to-end delivery of small, lower-risk projects or defined workstreams from initiation through to implementation and handover to live service.
- Ensure assigned project activities are completed in accordance with the Bank’s Change Framework, processes, governance standards, risk controls and delivery metrics.
- Support the preparation of project artefacts, including business cases, delivery plans and governance materials.
- Gather and maintain information relating to project costs, benefits, outcomes, assumptions and dependencies.
- Help ensure projects remain aligned with their agreed business case, strategic objectives and intended customer and business outcomes.
- Coordinate project resources and follow up actions, escalating delivery constraints or competing priorities to the Project Manager or Senior Project Manager.
- Maintain accurate project plans based on agreed estimates, milestones, dependencies and delivery dates.
- Monitor progress against agreed plans and highlight variances, delays or emerging concerns.
- Maintain project RAID logs, action logs, decision logs, change logs and lessons learned.
- Assist with supplier and third-party delivery activities, including meeting coordination, deliverable tracking and maintenance of relevant commercial records.
- Apply agreed change-control processes to record and assess proposed changes to scope, schedule, cost, quality or benefits.
- Prepare concise, accurate and evidence-based project status reports.
- Organise and support project governance forums, including preparing papers, coordinating attendees, recording decisions and following up agreed actions.
- Collaborate with the PMO to ensure project information and reporting meet Change Management Standards and agreed reporting cycles.
- Support stakeholder analysis, communication and engagement activities, recognising the impact of change on customers and colleagues.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Test Managers, Release Management, technical teams and business SMEs to coordinate requirements, testing, implementation readiness and transition to live service.
- Work with Architecture, Information Security, Information Privacy and other control functions to ensure required reviews, approvals and evidence are completed.
- Support release and environment planning to ensure project activities are aligned with the wider change portfolio.
- Capture project lessons and share them with the PMO and Change Management Community of Practice.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of internal delivery standards, project management methods, tools and relevant industry practices.
- Take ownership of an agreed professional development plan and seek feedback to support continued development.
Risk:
- Manage the risks inherent in assigned project activities by following internal policies, procedures and project controls.
- Maintain complete and accurate risk, issue, assumption and dependency information.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of effective mitigation and control actions.
- Ensure project delivery supports defined RCSA performance metrics.
- Escalate identified risks, issues, control gaps and delivery exceptions promptly through the appropriate governance route
