Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team at Ye Olde Bowling Green Inn. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organisation within our six letting rooms, and the pub itself ensuring a high standard of hygiene and presentation. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing essential services that contribute to the comfort and satisfaction of our guests. Prior experience in janitorial, hotel, or commercial cleaning is advantageous, along with skills in customer service. The position is paid and suitable for individuals committed to delivering exceptional standards of cleanliness and service.
Hours are mainly over a weekend, however as business picks up, midweek hours will be available. Availability on a Sunday is a must. Please do not apply if you can not commit to working every Sunday.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitise designated areas, including bedrooms, bathrooms, and communal spaces
- Make beds, change linens, and organise rooms to ensure they meet quality standards
- Assist with laundry duties including washing, drying, folding, and organising linen
- Respond promptly to guest or client requests with professionalism and courtesy
- Maintain a safe and hygienic environment by adhering to health and safety regulations
Skills
- Proven experience in janitorial work, hotel housekeeping, or commercial cleaning environments
- Strong attention to detail with organisational skills to ensure thorough cleanliness
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanour
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
- Good physical stamina with the ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks such as lifting or bending
- Reliable time management skills to complete tasks efficiently within allocated schedules
