Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled MOT tester or level 3 Vehicle mechanic join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety. Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify faults and issues
- Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and other vehicle systems
- Use hand tools and power tools to carry out repairs efficiently and accurately
- Diagnose mechanical problems using specialised equipment and techniques
- Keep detailed records of all work carried out on each vehicle
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications
- Assist in ordering parts and maintaining an organised workshop environment
- Test drive vehicles post-repair to confirm issues have been resolved effectively
Qualifications
- Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in vehicle repair and maintenance
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Good problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex mechanical issues
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in automotive engineering or mechanics are desirable but not essential
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- A valid driving licence is preferred
