Job Summary
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently delivering goods to various locations, ensuring compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies. Responsibilities
- Operate a rigid HGV Class 2 lorry to transport goods across designated routes
- Ensure timely delivery of products to clients, adhering to scheduled deadlines
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify any maintenance issues or safety concerns
- Secure loads properly using appropriate equipment and techniques
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with legal requirements
- Follow all road safety laws and company policies during driving operations
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery schedules or issues
- Assist with loading and unloading as required, ensuring goods are handled carefully and securely
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with rigid vehicles or similar lorries
- Strong knowledge of driving regulations and safety standards within the UK
- Delivery driver experience demonstrating reliability and punctuality
- Excellent organisational skills to manage routes efficiently and handle paperwork accurately
- Good communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
- Ability to operate a rigid lorry safely, including securing loads effectively
- Physically fit to handle loading/unloading tasks when necessary
