The Position
A practical and solutions-focused Maintenance Operative who is committed to maintaining an exceptional operational environment, supporting on keeping our spaces at a premium standard. You will be self-motivated with a passion for hands-on upkeep, facilities care, and studio production readiness. An ability to work under pressure with a proactive attitude is required. This role requires strong technical proficiency, exceptional organisational skills, and the ability to manage facilities checklists across multiple busy studio environments with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
Operations & Space Management
- Manages a structured daily checklist to keep the physical space in top condition.
- Carries out hands-on tasks including painting, polyfilling, and patching studio coves.
- Executes specialised floor care including regular buffing and waxing.
- Applies a basic understanding of health and safety regulations to keep the building safe for high footfall.
- Independently tackles basic plumbing and toilet maintenance.
- Proactively identifies and reports larger building risks.
- Opens the studio space and is responsible for ensuring the studio building is opened correctly for the day.
Logistics & Assets
- Tracks all maintenance tools, paint stock, and hardware supplies needed for daily upkeep.
- Acts as the primary on-site contact for external suppliers and third-party contractors.
- Escalates major facilities issues to the Studio Manager when required.
Shift & Calendar Coordination
- Coordinates physical upkeep and noisy repair work around the busy studio event and shoot calendar.
- Works flexible shifts to ensure studios are fully prepped and dried before clients arrive for scheduled bookings.
Leadership & Team Effectiveness
- Adopts a highly practical, solutions-focused approach to daily checklists and building fixes.
- Works independently across the spaces while keeping the Studio Manager updated on ongoing facility issues.
Essential Skills and Requirements:
- Experience in property maintenance, facilities upkeep, or construction-adjacent roles.
- Proficiency with hands-on tasks including painting, polyfilling, drilling, and repairing studio coves.
- Competence in specialised floor care, including operating floor buffing and waxing equipment.
- Solid basic understanding of building health and safety regulations to identify risks and manage basic plumbing issues.
- Experience tracking and managing inventory for tools, paint stock, and hardware supplies.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with external suppliers, third-party contractors, and the Studio Manager.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts and schedule noisy or disruptive repairs around a busy shoot and event calendar..

Working Hours and Pay
Contracted working hours would be 40 hours per week with core working hours of 6:00 am - 3:00pm.
We require some flexibility on hours and openness to facilitate overtime to ensure studio readiness, any revisions to working hours will be communicated at least 1 - 2 weeks in advance.
Salary for the core hours is £30,784.00 per annum.
