Job Overview
The College Practice is seeking a motivated and compassionate fully trained General Practice Nurse to join our dedicated nursing team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse who is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care within a supportive and innovative GP practice. Working alongside our GP Partners, Nurse Manager and multidisciplinary clinical team, you will play a vital role in providing safe, effective and patient-centred care to our local community.
Non-Negotiable Requirements (Essential Criteria)
Please only apply if you meet ALL of the following requirements:
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) with a valid and current NMC registration.
- Fully trained and experienced General Practice Nurse.
- Minimum of 2 years' recent experience working as a Practice Nurse within a GP surgery/Primary Care setting.
- Competent and confident in cervical cytology (smear tests).
- Competent and confident in childhood and adult immunisations, including vaccine administration and cold chain awareness.
- Experienced in chronic disease management, including long-term condition reviews (e.g. diabetes, asthma, COPD, hypertension).
- Experienced in complex wound care, including assessment, management and dressing of complex wounds.
- Able to work independently and manage a clinical workload safely and effectively.
- Excellent communication, clinical documentation and patient-care skills.

Responsibilities
- Delivering routine nursing care and chronic disease management
- Childhood and adult immunisations
- Cervical cytology screening
- Venepuncture and specimen collection
- Wound care, dressings, suture and clip removal
- Health promotion and lifestyle advice
- Travel health and vaccination advice
- Contraception and sexual health support
- Supporting Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) delivery
- Maintaining accurate clinical records and ensuring compliance with NMC standards
- Working collaboratively with GPs, HCAs, pharmacists and wider healthcare professionals
Qualifications
- Registered General Nurse (RGN)
- Current NMC Registration
- Minimum 2 years' experience in General Practice or Primary Care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to delivering outstanding patient care
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
