Make a life changing decision.
Cornwall is a fantastic place to live and work.
Adult Social Care in Cornwall is changing. We’re looking for passionate, skilled Social Workers to join us in developing a ‘best-in-class’ Adult Safeguarding service. You’re a talented professional and a strong advocate of people’s rights, safety and independence. That’s why you live a person-centred, strengths-based approach and ensure people’s views, wishes and desired outcomes are at the heart of all safeguarding activity.
You are resilient, analytical and professionally curious, able to work with complexity and make sound, defensible decisions. You seek out feedback and challenge, take ownership of your professional development and work to Adult Social Care practice standards in line with the Professional Capability Framework. You’re confident sharing your expertise and supporting others to grow.
As a Social Worker in Adult Safeguarding, you will lead on Section 42 enquiries, undertaking complex assessments of risk, capacity and need. You will develop and implement proportionate safeguarding plans, working collaboratively with adults, families and carers to achieve safer outcomes.
Our health partners are creating a community intervention offer jointly with us. This provides opportunities to work in a genuinely integrated, multi-disciplinary context, sharing information and delivering better outcomes. Working across safeguarding pathways and with primary care networks, we are strengthening how we respond to risk, support safe hospital discharge where safeguarding is a factor, and ensure people remain safe and supported at home and in their communities.
Cornwall has a Net Zero carbon strategy and faces the unique challenges of being a destination for holidays and retirement, alongside areas of deprivation. Safeguarding practice here requires adaptable, responsive approaches that reflect rurality, isolation and complexity.
If you think that rurality is a slower pace, think again. These are exciting and rewarding roles where you will make a real difference in people’s lives in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK. Join us, and you’ll be part of a welcoming, committed team with supportive leadership.
