Steel Material Handler / Operative | Dudley | Temp to Perm | Rotating shifts
A steel processing business in the Dudley area is recruiting two Steel Material Handlers to support operations within the de‑coiling and slitting areas. These roles suit candidates with hands‑on overhead crane experience who are comfortable working as part of a team and following strict health & safety procedures.
The role includes:
- Loading and unloading lorries
- Operating overhead cranes using c‑hooks, slings etc
- Supporting de‑coiling and slitting operations
- Banding, packing, and palletising steel
- Working closely with production teams
- Following all health & safety regulations
Experience required:
- Practical overhead crane experience (licence not required)
- Experience handling steel coils or flat steel
- Ability to work safely in a fast‑paced environment
- Team‑focused approach
This position is working both mornings and afternoons, rotating weekly:
- Mornings: 6:00am – 2:00pm (Mon to Fri)
- Afternoons: 2:00pm – 10:00am (Mon to Thurs) / 10:00am – 6:00pm (Fri)
- 40 hours per week with paid breaks
- Paying £12.71 on both shifts to begin with.
- Regular overtime is available
This is a temp‑to‑perm opportunity with a well‑established steel business.
