Bar Team Member – The Royal Oak

The Royal Oak is looking for enthusiastic, reliable and friendly Bar Team Member to join our growing team.
As one of the busiest pubs in the area, we pride ourselves on delivering outstanding customer service in a welcoming environment. Whether you're serving the perfect pint, creating a great atmosphere, or ensuring the pub is ready for the next day, you'll play a key role in our team.
What You'll Be Doing
- Providing friendly and efficient service to all customers.
- Preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to a high standard.
- Taking food and drink orders and delivering excellent table service where required.
- Handling cash and card transactions accurately.
- Keeping the bar, cellar areas and customer spaces clean, organised and fully stocked.
- Assisting with opening procedures, including setting up the bar, stocking fridges, checking tills and ensuring the venue is ready for service.
- Carrying out closing procedures, including cleaning the bar, cashing up tills, restocking, securing the premises and completing end-of-day checks.
- Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety.
- Working as part of a team while being confident to work independently when required.
- Supporting colleagues during busy service periods to ensure customers receive exceptional service.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of 18 years old.
- Previous bar or hospitality experience is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided.
- A positive, friendly attitude with excellent customer service skills.
- Reliable, hardworking and punctual.
- Ability to remain calm and efficient during busy periods.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
- A willingness to take responsibility for opening and closing shifts when required.
