Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Pet Sitter to provide exceptional care for our clients pets. This role is mainly an overnight pet sitting role. It involves staying in clients’ homes overnight while they are away, providing care, companionship, and maintaining the pets’ usual routines. This includes evening and morning care, feeding, walks where required, and ensuring the home is left clean and secure. These are not always drop-in visits; you would be required to stay overnight for the duration of most bookings The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to handle various pet care tasks responsibly. This paid position offers an opportunity to work flexibly.
Duties
- Feed, water, and administer medication to pets as required
- Provide daily exercise and playtime to keep pets active and engaged
- Clean and maintain pet living areas, including litter boxes or cages
- Monitor pets’ health and behaviour, reporting any concerns to owners or veterinary professionals
- Administer basic first aid if necessary and handle emergency situations appropriately
- Follow specific care instructions provided by pet owners
- Maintain regular communication with clients regarding their pets’ wellbeing
- Collect and deliver pets safely during walks or transportation needs
- Ensure the safety of all animals under your care at all times
Qualifications
- Prior veterinary experience or animal care training is desirable but not essential
- Genuine passion for working with animals and providing compassionate care
- Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners
- Reliable, organised, and able to follow detailed instructions accurately
- Valid driving licence and own vehicle will be needed for transportation duties
- Ability to work independently and responsibly in pet care environments
