Technical Trainer – Automotive
Salary: £40,170 + Company Car or £4,200 Car Allowance
Location: Reading
Are you an experienced Senior, Diagnostic or Master Technician considering your next move away from the workshop?
This is an opportunity to use the knowledge you've built throughout your career in a different environment, training and developing technicians across the BMW retailer network.
You'll still be working hands-on with modern vehicles, diagnostics and the latest automotive technology, but without the day-to-day pressures of a busy dealership workshop.
No previous teaching experience is required. If you're coming directly from industry, you'll receive full support and funded teaching qualifications.
The role:
- Deliver practical, hands-on automotive training
- Train technicians on diagnostics, fault finding, electrical systems and modern vehicle technology
- Demonstrate repair and diagnostic procedures in a workshop environment
- Coach technicians and help develop their technical ability
- Carry out technical competency assessments
- Deliver a mixture of workshop and classroom-based sessions
What we're looking for:
- Senior Technician, Master Technician, Diagnostic Technician or experienced Automotive Technician
- Level 3 Automotive qualification
- Strong diagnostics and fault-finding experience
- Good knowledge of modern vehicle and electrical systems
- Someone who enjoys helping and developing other technicians
Previous training experience is useful, but absolutely not essential.
If you've spent years building your technical knowledge but don't want to spend the rest of your career working against workshop targets, this offers a route into something different without walking away from the automotive industry.
