Vehicle Technician
Location: Avonmouth, Somerset
Shift Pattern: 44 hours per week - either 07:00-17:00 over 5 days or 06:00-18:00 over 4 days (1-hour unpaid break)
Salary: £35,000-£45,000 per annum (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
We are recruiting Vehicle Technicians on behalf of our client, a well-established, family-owned business and one of the South West's largest independent used vehicle dealerships. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy vehicle preparation centre, working on a variety of makes and models in a fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out servicing, diagnostics, and repairs to a high standard, ensuring vehicles are prepared efficiently and safely for retail.
The business is also relocating to a brand-new bodyshop facility in Portbury later this year, making this an exciting time to join a growing operation.
The Role:
- Diagnose and repair faults across engines, brakes, transmissions, and fuel systems
- Carry out servicing and repairs on a variety of makes and models
- Complete vehicle inspections and identify any additional repair requirements
- Work closely with parts and pre-delivery teams to ensure a smooth vehicle flow
- Maintain tools and equipment, identifying any hazards or maintenance requirements
- Follow all company health and safety procedures
- Complete all job cards and repair documentation accurately
- Work efficiently to achieve productivity and quality targets
The Person:
- Level 2 or Level 3 Vehicle Technician qualification (Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent) is preferred, although time-served technicians will also be considered
- Previous experience working as a Vehicle Technician within a workshop environment
- EV qualifications and experience would be advantageous
- Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 6 points for minor offences
- Own toolkit to complete repairs efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Team player with a positive and professional attitude
