Salary: £52,000+ per annum

Shift: Panama shift pattern – days and nights
Hours: 7.00am–7.00pm and 7.00pm–7.00am
Contract: Permanent, Full Time
Are you an electrically biased Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer looking for your next opportunity within food manufacturing?
Mach Recruitment is supporting a successful food manufacturer in Greater Manchester with the appointment of a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer. Following continued growth and investment, the business is expanding its engineering team to support production and improve equipment performance across the site.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager and Engineering Supervisor, you will respond to breakdowns, complete planned preventative maintenance and support machinery installations and continuous improvement projects.
Key responsibilities
- Responding to machinery breakdowns and carrying out effective fault-finding
- Completing planned preventative maintenance across the site
- Diagnosing electrical faults on production equipment and machinery
- Supporting mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic maintenance requirements
- Assisting with machinery installations and engineering projects
- Maintaining accurate records of breakdowns, servicing and repair work
- Keeping PPM schedules and engineering documentation up to date
- Working closely with production and other departments to minimise downtime
- Contributing to continuous improvement projects
- Following all health and safety, food safety and site procedures
- Taking part in training to develop your technical skills
What we are looking for
- A recognised engineering qualification at Level 3 or above
- An electrical engineering bias
- Previous maintenance experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Strong electrical fault-finding skills
- 17th Edition qualification as a minimum; 18th Edition would be preferred
- The ability to respond calmly and effectively to production breakdowns
- A practical, team-focused approach to maintenance and problem-solving
- Previous food or FMCG manufacturing experience would be advantageous
