This is the most exciting time to work in the automotive industry due to the adoption of electrification and autonomous technologies and the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) is at the forefront, ensuring everyone has the knowledge and skills they need to progress their career.
We’re looking for a commercially minded Key Account Manager to nurture and grow relationships with existing customers and members, while developing new business opportunities. Working closely with the Head of Commercial UK, you’ll help deliver IMI strategic priorities and bring market intelligence back into the business to shape future strategy, products and services.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- · Manage and develop a portfolio of key accounts, building long-term relationships and identifying upsell opportunities.
- · Generate sales through consultative conversations: understand customer needs, shape solutions and close opportunities.
- · Present the breadth of IMI solutions to customers and stakeholder groups
- · Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline for each allocated key account.
- · Agree product packages and commercial terms through to the point of sale.
- · Coordinate with internal teams to deliver a smooth, positive customer journey.
- · Maintain effective territory and diary management to maximise regional coverage.
- · Complete required reporting, forecasting and administration; use data and analysis tools to track activity and sector intelligence.
