Maintenance & Compliance Surveyor
Salary: £48,500 + £6,500 Car Allowance
Location: Home Based – Covering Nottingham, Sheffield & Mansfield
About the Role
Construo Recruitment is working in partnership with a growing specialist supported housing provider to recruit a Maintenance & Compliance Surveyor on a permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced surveyor to manage compliance, maintenance and planned works across a regional portfolio of supported housing properties. The role is home based and will involve regular travel across Nottingham, Sheffield and Mansfield.
The successful candidate will oversee contractor performance, property compliance and surveying activities, ensuring properties remain safe, compliant and maintained to a high standard while delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Manage compliance across gas, electrical, fire safety, asbestos and legionella
Oversee planned, reactive and compliance maintenance works
Carry out property inspections and surveys, identifying defects and remedial works
Manage contractors, monitor quality and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
Approve quotations, monitor invoices and ensure value for money
Conduct property safety inspections and compliance audits
Support stock condition surveys and maintain accurate asset management data
Prepare specifications, tender documentation and contract information
Ensure all works comply with health & safety legislation and building regulations
Liaise with tenants, contractors and stakeholders throughout projects
Carry out post inspections and customer satisfaction checks
Requirements
Experience in building surveying, compliance or asset management
Strong knowledge of building construction, defects and property legislation
Experience managing contractors and maintenance programmes
Understanding of fire risk assessments and compliance requirements
Ability to manage budgets and multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Ability to work independently within a mobile/home-based role
HNC or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline
Minimum 2 years post-qualified experience in property management or surveying
Full UK driving licence
