About this Role
We are seeking an organised, proactive, and detail-oriented Business Support Executive to provide administrative and operational support across our accounting practice. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the business by supporting client onboarding, document management, compliance processes, internal administration, and customer service.
This role is ideal for someone with excellent organisational skills, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering outstanding support in a professional services environment.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative Support
- Manage incoming emails, telephone calls, and correspondence.
- Schedule meetings and maintain staff calendars.
- Prepare letters, reports, presentations, and other business documents.
- Maintain accurate electronic and physical filing systems.
- Order office supplies and coordinate general office administration.
Client Support
- Assist with client onboarding and engagement processes.
- Prepare engagement letters and other client documentation.
- Maintain and update client records within the practice management system.
- Respond to client enquiries professionally and escalate where appropriate.
- Coordinate appointments and follow up on outstanding client information.
Compliance & Practice Support
- Assist with Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) documentation.
- Monitor compliance deadlines and maintain compliance records.
- Support the preparation of Companies House and HMRC documentation where required.
- Ensure confidential handling of sensitive client information in accordance with GDPR.
Operational Support
- Support workflow management across the practice.
- Monitor task progress and assist with deadline management.
- Coordinate internal meetings and prepare meeting agendas and minutes.
- Assist with business improvement initiatives and process documentation.
Finance Administration
- Prepare invoices and monitor payment status.
- Assist with expense processing and supplier payments.
- Support credit control activities where required.
- Liaise with clients regarding billing queries.
General Duties
- Maintain a professional and welcoming environment for clients.
- Support partners and team members with ad hoc administrative tasks.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of office procedures and systems.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Previous experience in an administrative or business support role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
- Professional and confidential approach to handling information.
Desirable
- Experience working within an accounting, finance, or professional services firm.
- Knowledge of HMRC, Companies House, AML, and KYC processes.
- Experience using accounting or practice management software such as Xero, QuickBooks, IRIS, CCH, Sage, or TaxCalc.
- Understanding of GDPR requirements.

Pay: Up to £34,000.00 per year
