Multi-Skilled Maintenance Team Member
We are an exciting, independent property management business with a great team looking after over 600 tenants. We are looking for a multi-skilled maintenance operative with a problem-solving to help us maintain our high standards.
Working with our maintenance co-ordinator who deals with receiving and scheduling the jobs, the successful candidate will be on the road 85% of the time, identifying the cause of problems, recommending the best course of action and following the job through to completion.
What are we looking for
- A positive attitude to identifying the root cause of problems and implementing proper fixes - no bodge jobs!
- Competent in basic plumbing, electrics and other household DIY (no certifications needed as this work is carried out by third party contractors)
- Comfortable with basic IT - we provide a smartphone to complete job sheets and organise diaries using Google Calendar
- Good communication - liaising with the office-based maintenance co-ordinator what the cause of an issue is, how long it will take to fix it and if there are any problems along the way
- Someone who is willing and able to assess the work of others and challenge poor workmanship - being the office's eyes and ears on the work carried out by third parties.
Working hours:
- Monday to Friday (9am – 5pm)
Maintenance issues raised by tenants
- Plumbing tasks (fixing leaks, replacing internal pipes, TRVs etc)
- Basic electrical tasks (changing switches, light fittings etc)
- Undertaking minor maintenance (DIY) tasks
- Checking/replacing batteries/CO2 detectors
- Unblocking drains
- Attending leaking toilets, showers, drains etc
- Flat pack furniture assembly
- Painting/decorating
- Patching small areas of damaged plaster
- Fixing loose carpets
- Hanging internal doors
- Treating damp and mould
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £27,700.00-£35,000.00 per year
