Job description
Working as part of the team, alongside other casters to ensure effective and safe running of the continuous horizontal casting lines in our copper alloy Foundry.
The successful applicant will give priority to ensuring Health & Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to at all times.
Day to day duties include –
Making up heats according to different copper alloy groups
Working on furnaces. This work involves melting, skimming and testing metal, using basic mathematical sums to determine alloy alterations, pecking furnaces, sweeping and cleaning furnaces and casting area
Inspecting the cast strip, unload cast coils and using basic computer skills to book in the coils
Completing casting reports, FLT books & report any issues to the foundry office
Reporting to the leading hand & Foundry Supervisors.
A full training programme will be devised for each individual, according to his specific needs.
