We are looking for a Structural Engineer to join our growing team and support structural engineering projects across London.
The role will primarily involve carrying out structural site inspections, with opportunities to take on project management and engineering coordination responsibilities depending on your experience and capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Carry out structural site visits and inspections across London
- Inspect cracks, structural defects and movement
- Assess load-bearing walls and proposed wall removals
- Inspect extensions, loft conversions and refurbishment works
- Take measurements, photographs and site information
- Provide clear technical information to the design/reporting team
- Liaise with clients, architects, contractors and other consultants
- Review structural issues and propose practical engineering solutions
- Manage projects and coordinate engineers/designers where appropriate
- Assist with reports, calculations and structural designs depending on experience
Requirements
- Degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Good understanding of residential and commercial structures
- Ability to confidently attend sites and communicate with clients
- Knowledge of UK construction methods and structural engineering principles
- Good written and spoken English
- Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule
Experience
We are open to engineers at different levels.
More experienced candidates may also be considered for a Structural Engineer / Engineering Manager position, including responsibility for managing projects, reviewing work and coordinating other engineers.
Candidates currently requiring a UK work visa or visa sponsorship may also apply and will be considered depending on experience and suitability.
Location
London – regular travel to sites throughout Greater London will be required.
