Responsibilities
- Build trusting relationships with children and young people, offering consistent support and guidance
- Assist with daily activities, including educational tasks, recreational activities, and personal care as needed
- Implement tailored plans to promote social skills, independence, and emotional well-being
- Mentor children through positive reinforcement and constructive feedback to encourage growth
- Support teaching staff by helping facilitate learning sessions and engaging children in educational activities
- Observe and record behavioral changes or concerns, communicating effectively with colleagues and supervisors
- Promote a safe environment by ensuring health and safety protocols are followed at all times
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or young people in a supportive or educational capacity is highly desirable
- Strong mentoring skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others
- Knowledge of teaching methods suitable for diverse age groups and needs
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with children, families, and team members
- Ability to remain patient, empathetic, and proactive in challenging situations
- Relevant qualifications or training in childcare, education, or social care are advantageous but not mandatory
