We are seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Butchery Skills Workplace Trainer to deliver high-quality training and assessment to apprentices and commercial learners within the meat and food processing industry. This role is based at Plumpton College, with frequent regional and nationwide travel to employer premises. Applicants must therefore have access to a car, and mileage expenses will be reimbursed in line with college policy.
You will play a key role in supporting learners to develop occupational competence, confidence and progression, while also building strong employer relationships and helping to grow the college’s butchery and food processing apprenticeship provision.

deliver practical and theoretical butchery training aligned to apprenticeship standards and regulated qualifications
- coach and assess apprentices in the workplace, supporting timely progress and achievement
- plan and deliver engaging training tailored to employer and learner needs
- build strong relationships with employers, learners and internal teams to ensure a high-quality programme experience
- proactively develop new business opportunities and support the growth of apprenticeship and commercial training provision
About you
You will bring:

significant occupational experience within butchery and/or meat processing
- experience of delivering apprenticeship training and assessment
- the ability to coach, motivate and support learners effectively in the workplace
- a relevant vocational qualification at Level 3 or above, or equivalent industry experience
- excellent communication, organisation and IT skills, with the ability to work independently and travel frequently to employer sites
