Location: Daddy Daycare Blindwells at Blindwells Primary School near Prestonpans, East Lothian (EH32 9GS)
Hours: 30 hours per week - Monday to Friday breakfast club 7:30-9am, Monday to Thursday 2:30–6:00 PM in-club plus Friday 11.30-6pm. The rest of the hours are for admin and times are flexible.
Pay: £15.50per hour (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Daddy Daycare is a well-established, family-run childcare provider, delivering high-quality 5 star rated, play-based childcare across multiple locations in Edinburgh. Its owners live in East Lothian and this will be the first East Lothian based service. We focus on child-led play, where kids help shape their experience, from picking activities to choosing snacks!
We are looking for a dedicated Deputy Manager to join our team and take on a unique opportunity to get into childcare Management and help to mould a new service. About the Role
As Deputy Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of our after-school club, ensuring a fun, safe, and engaging environment for primary-aged children. You’ll work closely with the Club Manager and run the service in his absence.
Your Responsibilities:
- Create & Lead Activities – Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities.
- Ensure a Safe & Fun Environment – Make sure every child feels valued, included, and supported.
- Support the Team – Help supervise and mentor staff, ensuring high-quality interactions.
- Communicate with Families – Build strong relationships with children and parents.
- Handle Admin Tasks – Keep records, assist with care plans, and help maintain compliance.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
✔ Holds a childcare qualification (SVQ3, HNC/HND) or equivalent
✔ Has worked with children in an after-school club, nursery, school, or similar setting for at least 2years
✔ Is enthusiastic, caring, and fun – someone who can engage with children and create a positive atmosphere.
✔ Is organised and proactive, able to balance hands-on childcare with admin tasks.
✔ Is willing to start a Management qualification or is already on the BA or PDA level 9 in childhood practice.
