In this vital role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the care home, ensuring all communal areas, bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchen spaces are spotless and hygienic. Your proactive approach will contribute directly to the comfort and well-being of our residents, supporting their health and safety every day.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of all areas within the care home, including bedrooms, bathrooms, communal spaces, and kitchens
- Use appropriate cleaning products and equipment to ensure effective sanitation while adhering to health and safety guidelines
- Maintain stock levels of cleaning supplies and notify management when supplies need replenishing
- Follow strict infection control procedures to prevent the spread of germs and maintain a hygienic environment
- Assist with laundry duties as needed, ensuring residents’ clothing and linens are clean and well-maintained
- Report any maintenance issues or hazards promptly to ensure a safe living environment for residents and staff
- Support the team during deep cleans or special cleaning projects to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness
Qualifications
- Experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial roles is highly desirable
- Previous experience working in a hospital or healthcare setting is advantageous
- Knowledge of infection control procedures and hygiene standards within care environments
- Ability to work independently with attention to detail and a proactive attitude
- Good communication skills and a respectful approach when interacting with residents and team members
- Ability to follow health and safety protocols diligently to ensure a safe working environment
