D Horne Services Ltd is seeking a reliable and hardworking Grounds & Arboriculture Operative to join our expanding team based in Pinmore, South Ayrshire. You will support a wide range of grounds, arboriculture and site maintenance works across renewable energy and commercial sites throughout South‑West Scotland.
This is a hands‑on outdoor role suited to someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys varied tasks, and can operate effectively within different teams across the business.
The Role
You will support a variety of grounds, arb and maintenance activities, including:
- Commercial grounds maintenance (grass cutting, strimming, hedge work)
- Assisting with arboriculture and forestry tasks
- Operating machinery including tractors, ride‑on mowers and quad bikes
- Preparing daily work, materials and equipment
- Carrying out site maintenance and vegetation control
- Completing plant, vehicle and equipment checks
- Following all site health and safety procedures
- Supporting winter maintenance operations (gritting and snow clearance)
- Assisting with spraying tasks and maintaining accurate records
About YouEssential
- Experience in commercial grounds maintenance or similar outdoor work
- PA1 / PA6 spraying certification
- Experience operating machinery (tractors, ride‑on mowers, quad bikes etc.)
- Full UK driving licence
- Good understanding of site health and safety
- Reliable, punctual and able to work well within a team
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Takes pride in delivering a high standard of work
Desirable
- CPCS or NPORS plant tickets
- Arboriculture or tree‑work qualifications
- Experience supporting site operations
- Agricultural fencing experience
Working Pattern
- Full‑time, permanent
- Monday to Friday
- Winter maintenance rota and out‑of‑hours working
- Travel across South‑West Scotland
- Occasional working away depending on contracts

This role is based in a rural part of South‑West Scotland. Due to the location and travel requirements, your own transport is essential.
