Environmental Health Support Assistant – Fixed Term 18 months

Salary Grade 2 £25,583 - £26,824 per annum
Full Time, 37 hours per week
We are looking for an organised and customer-focused Environmental Health Support Assistant to provide administrative support to our Environmental Health service. You will be a first point of contact for enquiries, maintain accurate records and support officers with day-to-day service delivery.

Respond to Environmental Health enquiries by telephone, email and in person.
- Manage service requests and update Environmental Health systems accurately.
- Produce reports, maintain records and support data management tasks.
- Support officers with consultations, meetings, payments, procurement and searches.
- Handle sensitive information appropriately and follow health and safety and data protection procedures.
You will be organised, methodical and confident dealing with customers. You will have good communication and IT skills, be able to prioritise your workload and remain calm when handling sensitive or challenging enquiries.

GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and English, or equivalent.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Experience dealing with members of the public face to face and over the telephone.
- Good communication, literacy, numeracy and organisational skills.
- Ability to prioritise work, follow procedures and use initiative.
- Calm, responsible approach with tact and sensitivity when handling complaints or sensitive matters.

Administrative experience in an office environment.
- Experience using databases or multiple IT systems.
- Knowledge of Environmental Health services or systems such as Northgate/M3.
- Customer care, IT or administrative qualifications/training.
- Experience of working within Local Government.
