- Purchase Ledger (AP): Set up and maintain supplier records; 3‑way match POs/GRNs/invoices; resolve queries; prepare and run supplier payment runs in line with terms.
- Sales Ledger (AR): Maintain customer records; post sales invoices/credits; issue customer statements; support credit control and query resolution.
- Banking: Daily/weekly bank reconciliations (all accounts); post receipts/payments; reconcile merchant services and petty cash and expenses in line with company policies.
- VAT & Compliance: Prepare and submit monthly VAT returns (MTD) accurately and on time; support EC Sales/Listings or Intrastat where required; maintain audit trail and working papers.
- Month‑End Support: Assist with accruals/prepayments, GRNI review, fixed asset additions/disposals, balance‑sheet reconciliations with support from the external company accountant.
- Data Integrity: Maintain clean vendor/customer master data; ensure correct dimensions and document attachments in MS Business Central; support finance MI/reporting by keeping data accurate.
- Customer & Vendor Comms: Provide professional, timely responses to AR/AP queries; build good relationships with both customers and suppliers.
- Amazon/D2C Settlements: Reconcile marketplace settlements (fees/chargebacks) and payment gateways; investigate differences.
- Continuous Improvement: Suggest and help implement small process improvements to improve speed, accuracy, control & visibility.
A successful Finance Manager should have:
- AAT / ACA / ACCA part qualified or actively studying (study support available).
- Experience in a similar finance / AP/AR role, ideally in a product/manufacturing or FMCG environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Business Central is desirable but not essential; confident user of an ERP and Excel (lookups, pivots, basic formulae).
- Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy and follow‑through; organised and able to prioritise.
- Clear communicator with a professional, helpful manner when dealing with suppliers and customers.
- Discreet and trustworthy with confidential financial information.
- Study support if wishes to get qualified
