We are looking for motivated and dedicated individuals to join our SEND Service as Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) Coordinators.
This is a rewarding and pivotal role within the statutory SEND system, where you will act as the named officer for children and young people undergoing Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessments and reviews. Working closely with families, education providers and multi-agency partners, you will help ensure children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) receive high-quality, person-centred and outcome-focused support.
As an EHCP Coordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring the Council meets its statutory responsibilities under the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice, supporting improved outcomes for children and young people aged 0–25.
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate EHC needs assessments and annual reviews within statutory timescales.

Manage a caseload of children and young people with SEND as their named officer.

Draft, review and maintain high-quality Education, Health and Care Plans that clearly identify needs, outcomes and provision.

Provide advice, information and guidance to families, educational settings and professionals regarding SEND processes.

Attend and contribute to annual reviews, interim reviews and multi-agency meetings.

Monitor the effectiveness of provision and progress towards agreed outcomes.

Support and challenge education providers to ensure appropriate provision is in place.

Contribute to SEND panels and implement decisions effectively.

Support the tracking and monitoring of young people, including those who are NEET or at risk of becoming NEET.

Work collaboratively with colleagues across education, health and social care to ensure coordinated support.

Ensure compliance with statutory duties, policies and local performance targets.
About You
We are seeking individuals who:

Have experience working with children, young people and families, ideally within a SEND environment.

Possess a good understanding of SEND legislation, including the 0–25 SEND Code of Practice.

Can effectively manage a varied caseload and prioritise competing demands.

Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, accurate and legally compliant EHC Plans.

Build positive relationships and work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.

Are confident in chairing or contributing to meetings and providing constructive professional challenge when required.

Demonstrate strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.

Are proactive, solution-focused and passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people.
